Echo Is Your Love ‎– Lion Tamer Vs Tigers MCD

"I got my first contact with Echo Is Your Love a few years ago through the late MoonTV. The black-and-white live clip was rampant with an unstoppably screaming band, and Ila’s guitars or Nea’s screaming vocals (they sounded like mere vocals) didn’t make getting any easier. I didn’t like it, but luckily opinions get changed. Since then, Echo Is Your Love's records, especially the last two, have played frequently in the turntable from time to time.

And now Echo Is Your Love is already ten years old. In addition to the years, there are four long plays and a large slide of splits and other small discs. In the fall, the Fifth Long Play can be added to the catalog. The upcoming album will offer previews in the form of Lion Tamer vs Tigers EP. The small album includes two songs from the upcoming long play, one missed omission, one re-recorded old rarity, and one remix. Unilateralism is therefore not prosecuted for the purposes of this publication.

The upcoming material, according to the record company, is even AOR stuff - the band itself is talking about a group that presents itself as "more focused." This is true, more than the first claim. The album’s opening title track, Lion Tamer Versus Tigers, really is somewhat the most popular Echo ever heard. However, that doesn’t mean the song is crappy. Basically, this kind of material could even get a radio call, which Echo Is Your Love has hardly ever received too much (barely even sought after). The straightforward body is comfortably left to tease the occiput. Moon Is Dead, which will be heard as the second one, will also be released in the upcoming long play, will creep into the shadier alleys, but will be more restrained than the first issue. The third performance at 6pm Bela Lugosis continues nicely with the previous line but in a slightly more nocturnal (and rocking) atmosphere. Nea's song is especially great in this song. The fourth track, I Didn´t Care, was originally printed for the seven-inch, shared with the band Electroscope in 2000 by the English label Kylie Productions. Lastly, the Boys of Scandinavia’s great remix of the EP title track has been saved. Guaranteed Indian disco stuff to dance with whistle pants.

Lion Tamer vs Tigers doesn’t offer anything very shocking, but is still a nice snack before the fall and a new record. Based on what has been heard, a lot can be expected from the upcoming album, and the band does not seem to be too obsessed - focused, as already stated. The old band is not there yet, and hopefully another Mokoma will be released. Let's give Echo the last word for himself:

[K] uten The band Radiopelelimet has proven, the age of the band is really just a number, because if a rock regiment over the age of 20 can kick their buttocks dark, the 10-year-old should not have nearly passed his last day of use." - Tuomas Tiainen
