No one finds it easy to define them musically. And not because their proposal is extremely eclectic or especially complex or crazy, but because they are one of those groups that do not assume more guidelines in their music than that which marks their particular and circumstantial relationship with musical instruments. That feature logically places them in the field of what we usually call post-rock, but in their case we can't settle for that. For various reasons, among them the presence of a singer who gives a sense of song to his compositions, although his function is not to sweeten his spirit but to harden and broaden it sonically, a little step beyond where Shipping News or Cerberus Shoal tread. Also because of an affinity for a genre as unprecedented in the post-rock scene as dark-wave and, in general, the industrial and sinister sounds that Killing Joke or The Cure used so much. And because of their emotional base, which at times brings them closer to Karate, which links them directly to their clearest precedents, A Room With A View, and which doesn't distance them much from Sonic Youth at times or from Engine Down at others. Overall, then, one of the most conscientious proposals, rich in influences, intellectually exciting and musically profound that we have discovered in Madrid in recent years.
