Eh! – El Sobresalto Alpha lp

Hey! continues his path of sound exploration with a third album that picks up the baton from his previous 36 of 48 (BCore, 2009) and La Fase del Sueño Intratable (BCore, 2011) and brings his peculiar fusion of punk rock, soundtracks and off jazz to new territories. The sound imaginary of Eh! (John Zorn, Tortoise, Ennio Morricone, JG Thirwell, Les Baxter, Aloha...) in recent years has been nourished by new nuances ranging from Morphine to Black Heart Procession, from Motorpsycho to Thee Silver Mt. Zion and the Miles Davis más electric or the rockiest Herbie Hancock to the orchestrated beauty of Sufjan Stevens.

This whirlwind of influences has crystallized into a work, El Sobresalto Alpha, more organic and lively, less tied to the mysterious loops of previous albums but with those same textures, and with 10 songs that Eh! he has been composing slowly, weaving each of its parts in an almost traditional way, freeing himself from some ties to give more prominence to the essence of the band live and even leaving more room for improvisation. Someone said that the music of Eh! it was a soundtrack for a movie that doesn't exist. The movie still doesn't exist, and now it could be any B series from the 70s.
