Eh! – 36 De 48 CD

Elías Egido has become known in the musical world for being a key player in the history and music of the famous Standstill for many years. His militancy with the band, from the end of the 90s until 2005, provided him with a large part of his musical background, while his love for experimental music, jazz and electronics were a fundamental contribution to Standstill's discourse. After some time, and settled definitively in Madrid, Elías has put his musical ideas in order and has assembled them with a brilliant result.

His first album under the name Eh! is a demonstration of talent, creativity and good taste, in the form of 10 instrumental songs with a score flavor, as Lalo Schifrin, Ennio Morricone, John Barry or Henry Mancini could have composed. Although modernity and experimentation prevail, from John Zorn to Tortoise, it is the enveloping atmosphere that makes the music of Eh! a gratifying sound experience, committed and beautiful in equal parts. In addition, Elías' hardcore character acquired during his time with the E-150 extremes gives his scores a characteristic and unique touch. Kind of like filmcore. The creative team revolves around Elías himself, who has composed, recorded and mixed the entire album. Although the contribution of his collaborators is, without a doubt, totally relevant and valuable: Raul Pérez from The Baltic Sea at La Mina studios in Seville has been the perfect sparring partner, helping him to record and mix properly.

Like Karlos Osinaga from Lisabö, he has contributed his wisdom when it comes to mastering. Regarding instrumentation, several of the musician's friends have contributed: Daniel Arrizabalaga (member of Same Old) on drums, Javier Díaz-Ena (alma mater of Dead Capo and regular collaborator with Aaron Thomas and Ainara Legardon) the theremin, calimba and bow saw, Rubén Martínez (guitarist of It's Not Not and bassist of Tokyo Sex Destruction) on guitar and Naiel Ibarrola on keyboards. For his part, Elías as an instrumentalist has put the basses, double basses and programming aside from the musical direction. An excellent and suggestive debut that brings back to the present one of the most influential musicians on the Barcelona underground scene in recent years.
