Georgiana Starlington / Wild Choir split 7"
At the heart of georgiana starlington is married couple jack and julie hines and their amazing male / female vocals harmonizing atop lo-fi blues-garage sounds. the rest of the band is filled out by a roaming cast of drifting cowboys and in the case of this release its moses archuleta (deerhunter) on drums and trey lindsay (gaye blades) on bass. compared to their first 7", this one benfits from the full band and has a much more textured aproach. wild choir, on the flip side, are a bit of a mystery to me but when jack and julie played me 'cryin over you' the split made perfect sense. they actually sound a lot like georgiana starlington but with the rock turned up to 11 and the country turned down to 2. the soulful in-the-red vocals could rival otis redding in delivery and any black lips tune in attitude. recorded on tape by jarvis woods.
