Cardosanto – Pneuma CD

If some recording work is repeated fourteen years after his first appearance, we believe there must be a reason, and in our opinion is all the News / original sound of the album in question, namely "Pneuma" of Ligurian Cardosanto. This is not for all hearings, rather it is a work that remained niche in 2000 and will remain so even today. In detail, it is what oggettivissima say that this trio is blatantly in love with King Crimson, and that no doubt all twelve tracks, for one reason or another, they live of this influence; tracks that contain four "spores" taste very rumoristico / brain, "Pneuma I, II, III, IV", and which serve at times as decompression chamber for the remaining eight "exhausting performances". From "Worlds", through "Trema Blasphemous" and "The Absurd Tale Of Phineas Gage", it is the same old story, a noise rock veiled by substantial contributions progressive and venerable openings hardcore and math rock; a massacre game of great skill and professionalism of the guitarist Roberto Sassi, worthily supported by excellent Fulvio Giglio, bassist (with a sense of funky) and Dario Marinangeli, drummer. The best moments in "Cardotrance" and "Room Pneumatics"; the first is a mini masterpiece that revolves around several key centers that give strength and movement (supported by a strong pace) to the piece, and which incorporates inside pills psychedelia, jazz rock, and prog authentic cervellotico everything perfectly dosed and mixed; the second is a sound journey somewhat obscure, psychotic, reminiscent in part certain utterances of the first Battiato Tangerine Dream or less electronic, but still living with its own originality (try to feel the growing chorus and you'll know). Conceived fourteen years ago, he convinces even now; it is an excellent album that goes in our view consumed in moderation, to slowly discover the many facets of sound and rhythm. - Rock It (Italy)
