Always around the instrumental format and inclined to psychedelia, the career of the Barcelona power trio Cuzo has been giving subtle changes of direction in each of their new record releases (five to date). Starting from a clearly retro sound that fixes its gaze on the seventies, the group led by Jaime L Pantaleón has gone from the doom of its beginnings to the progressive jazz rock of its experience with the ex-vocalist of Can Damo Suzuki, going through the heavily Goblin-laden psychedelic rock of their first installment for BCore (Alchemy for Beginners). Until we arrive at Són imaginacions teves. The group's second LP for the Barcelona label BCore was recorded live by Javier Ortiz at Estudios Brazil in Madrid. The band lineup remains the same as in Alchemy For Beginners. Three friends: Jaime L Pantaleon (12Twelve and Atleta among many other groups), Fermín Manchado on bass and Pep Caravante on drums and percussion.

A cursory definition of Cuzo would describe the trio as a cross between Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, and Jimi Hendrix. Of the good the best. If these three groups hadn't existed, surely none of the three members of Cuzo would be spending hours in a rehearsal room right now. But a closer listen reveals that while the trio is well versed in scripture and masters the dynamics of this type of instrumental format (no song goes on too long, no unnecessary solos or redundant interludes) there's much more to it than that: the group's personality tends towards hedonism and musical sensuality. Dance. Sensory binge. Seeing Cuzo live one is infected with his enthusiasm (something that is perfectly captured in the recording of this album) and with the enjoyment with which the three musicians undertake each new song. Frenzy. flash. Fuzz, psychedelia, disorientation, progressive rock, orientalized percussion, sidereal journeys, patchouli effluvia... Everything in Cuzo is designed to lead the listener towards enjoyment and enjoyment.
