Numinous Eye – Live / Studio LP
This early Numinous Eye album was the result of two recordings: as you might guess, one live and one studio.
The live recording was from a trip to Tokyo, when I played a show on Dec 12, 2005 with my friends Koji Shimura on drums (of Acid Mothers Temple, High Rise, Mainliner, White Heaven, etc) and Hiroshi Higo on bass (of Friction, Shibusashirazu Orchestra). It was at a small cafe-style bar called Chikyuya. I edited the recording a bit to accommodate the running time of an LP side.
The studio recording was with my SubArachnoid Space bandmate Chris Van Huffel on drums, just the two of us in our old practice space which I was still sharing with the band. This side of the LP was constructed from several parts of what we recorded on October 28, 2005.
The digital version of the studio side here is extended, since it doesn't need to fit on the LP! Also, to be honest, I was unable to find the edited/assembled master for the LP, so I worked from the original recordings and reconstructed it, but it's not exact. Maybe consider it some mutant remix thing? Anyway, if you get the LP and the digital they'll be slightly different -- and the digital is remastered and, frankly, sounds better. But the LP is on orange vinyl and is cool, so get both!
