Tokyo Sex Destruction – The Neighbourhood CD
TSD have had time to mature their discourse, either because of the experience gained or because of the divine intervention of Gregg Foreman (distinguished member of The Delta 72 and Cat Power), who has been the producer and keyboardist of the album, they stand up 7 years later of his debut with his best album. In some unrecognizable moments, TSD have taken the best of each of their influences to build songs of a very high level, at the height of their impeccable live career around the world, from Canada to Slovenia, from Russia to the United States. The incorporation of RM Sinclair on bass, which although he has been touring with the band for four years now is the first album he has recorded, is another factor that has made the band sound more solid than ever and, if possible, even closer to the black sound from Philadelphia or from the Shaft soundtracks, thanks to elaborate bass lines perfectly greased with JM Sinclair's drums and RR Sinclair's polished guitar. The impressive Dope and Love that opens the album, with an unusual load of melody in them, as well as totally coherent, does nothing but open a box of thunder full of wonders like Cold Sweat, with a spectacular falsetto by an RJ Sinclair more inspired than ever. Full of groove, black drive, swing (Move it), less wild than on previous albums (although still with angry moments like It's gonna be alright) and much more sexual... And as the icing on the cake, I think you lie, of which Jagger and Richards could have been responsible. A huge album well deserved by the group that has played the most times outside Spain of national independent rock.
